I would like to invite you to this year's Cambridge Surgical forum Face to Face “Summer meeting”.
We have had some very successful meetings since the launch of the forum in 2020, however, these were all online due to Covid restrictions. We are delighted that we are now able to meet face to face.
Our inaugural summer face-to-face meeting will be held on Wednesday the 15th June at 5:30pm - 7:30pm in the Cancer Research UK Lecture Theatre (map attached)
The aim of the forum is to encourage discussion and debate with cross cutting themes affecting all aspects of surgical and perioperative care for both NHS and University colleagues. It is designed to encourage cross pollination of ideas across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
We have some excellent speakers lined up for this meeting. The topics are:
- "Surgical Robots… Where are we now?" by Professor David Beard - Director of RCS Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU)
- "Equality & Diversity challenges in surgery - what the Royal College and surgeons are doing" by Professor Scarlett McNally - President-elect, Medical Women’s Federation, Member of Council, RCSEng
- "Equality & Diversity in Cambridge" by Professor Nita Forouhi – University of Cambridge Clinical School Lead for EDI.
- "Developing cutting edge facilities for surgical training at CUH” by Dr Arun Gupta – CUHP Director of Postgraduate Education.
Following the talks, there will be drinks and nibbles to encourage further discussion and networking. I do hope you will be able to join us and help promote the vibrant Cambridge surgical and perioperative community.
Please come and support Cambridge surgery. We look forward to seeing you there.
Registration is via Eventbrite:
Kind regards
